When I heard there was going to be a Phil Ochs tribute, I had to attend. Ochs provided the soundtrack to my high school years. As my grades attested, I spent more time studying the liner notes of his albums than studying for finals. I had seen Ochs perform at the Main Point and knew all the words to his songs. As did everyone who gathered at Malelani Café in Mt. Airy on Saturday night, April 9.
Organized by local folk music maven Ray Naylor, the evening celebrated songs by Ochs and his peers, including Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. Performers included Art Miron, Michael Tearson, Betsy Moore Robinson, Mike McNichol, David Kleiner, Jan Alba, Rusty Corwell and Naylor, who also doubled as audio/video engineer while live-streaming the concert. The small venue was filled to capacity with about 50 people.

if any one was around in the early/mid sixties you may be interested in looking at the face book site the second fret in Philadelphia. as you probably are aware the second fret was the premier and first folk club in the Philadelphia area. that is the second fret in Philadelphia. tks
