A day full of workshops, performances, live art, kids activities, participatory murals… over 20 shows througout the day!
All of these events are in celebration of the life and legacy of political folk singer Phil Ochs who used his songs to advocate for positive social change.
All of the events throughout the day will consist of either performances of Phil Ochs’s material, or material consistent with social justice themes.
This event is completely FREE!
FREE childcare is available.

Workshops start at 10am, end at 6pm.

There will also be a LIVE BROADCAST of the CKCU radio show Canadian Spaces.
There will be live painting by Arthur II and A. James Brummel
#OchsFest will reflect on modern day social justices issues in Canada. The workshop topics (so far) reflect on prisoner justice, Indigenous struggles, gender violence, labour issues, elder poverty, labour issues and colonization. Also there will be many MANY sing-alongs.
Donations will be accepted and any profits will be divided amongst the musicians, artists and panelists.
