Phil On The Radio, 1972

Phil Ochs (December 19, 1940 – April 9, 1976) and John Bassette (December 28, 1941 – November 2006) performed a concert at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio on October 30, 1972. Ochs gave an interview were he talked about politics, music, pot, drugs and life. Ochs described himself as a “left social democrat.” Phil Ochs performed the following songs on this part of the audio recording :

Ochs performed at many Vietnam protests, civil rights rallies, student and organized labor events over the course of his career. Bassette performed at many street fairs and events in the Northeast Ohio area, and favored benefits for charitable causes.
